Edinburgh is a ramblers city. Whether it is the striking symmetry of the Georgian streets of New Town, poking your head into the mediaeval closes of the Old Town or puffing up Arthur's Seat for the tapestry like view from the top, by the end of your stay, you will be needing a new set of shoes. Here are our favourites with some stops built in for your head, your heart your throat and your stomach.

Calton Hill
