Edinburgh Hotels from Edinburgh City Breaks

Edinburgh has a huge selection of places to stay. Many of the hotels are concentrated in the Georgian New Town and the West End, particularly around Princes St, Calton Hill and the streets near Haymarket Station.

Edinburgh Cottages & Apartments

There are also hundreds of guesthouses and B&Bs all over the city. The deals out of season can be good value, but during the festival season hotels are full and finding accommodation can seem sysiphean.

There are hostels as well and a couple of campsites. Most of the universities and colleges offer campus accommodation, but this is neither cheap nor centrally located. Another option, if you’re staying a week or more, is self-catering, which is cost-effective, or you can rent a room or flat.

If you arrive in Edinburgh without a reservation, particularly during the festival, or at Hogmanay, the chances are you won’t find a room anywhere near the centre. It pays to book well in advance.

If you dont know the difference between the New Town and the Old Town, why not skate about the hotel map and then choose hotels by street location - neat, huh
